US Issues Level 4 “Do Not Travel” Warning for Vietnam and Hong Kong

In response to recent surges in COVID-19 infections in the country, the U.S. State Department has raised its travel advisory for Vietnam to level 4, indicating a “very high” number of COVID-19 cases. In addition, the department advises that Americans should avoid all travel there, based on guidance from the CDC.

Additionally, on March 2, the U.S. State Department raised the travel advisory for Hong Kong to Level 4, the highest level. The department advises citizens not to travel to Hong Kong due to its zero-tolerance approach to the COVID-19 pandemic, which includes restrictions that may separate children from their parents in cases of exposure.
