US | FY2024 H-1B Cap Initial Registration Period Opens on March 1, 2023

On January 27, USCIS announced that the initial registration period for the FY2024 H-1B cap will open at 12pm EST on March 1, 2023, and will run through 12pm EST on March 17, 2023.

  • Prospective H-1B cap-subject petitioners or their representatives are required to use a myUSCIS online account (my.uscis.gov) to register each beneficiary electronically for the selection process and pay the associated $10 H-1B registration fee for each registration submitted on behalf of each beneficiary.
  • Registrants will be able to create new accounts beginning at noon Eastern on February 21.
  • Prospective petitioners or their representatives will be able to submit registrations for multiple beneficiaries in a single online session.

USCIS intends to notify account holders by March 31.

Earlier this month, USCIS proposed increasing the H-1B registration fee from $10 to $215, but those fee increases have not yet gone into effect so the registration fee for this calendar year remains at $10.

USCIS will randomly select registrations and send selection notifications via users’ myUSCIS online accounts.
