Effective March 31, 2018, the US Consulate General in St. Petersburg, Russia has closed and is no longer able to provide services to US citizens. The Russian government ordered the post’s closure on March 29, 2018, in retaliation for last week’s expulsion of 60 Russian diplomats from the United States and closure of the Russian consulate in Seattle. Pending applications will likely be transferred to another consulate, and the US Embassy in Moscow and Consulates General in Vladivostok and Yekaterinburg will continue to operate as usual. Residents of St. Petersburg should reach out to the US Embassy in Moscow for routine services.
