US | Biden Administration Extends DED for Hong Kong Residents in the US

On January 26, the Biden administration extended a program that protects Hong Kong residents living in the U.S. from deportation. The program, known as Deferred Enforced Departure (DED), means that Hong Kongers can remain in the U.S. until January 26, 2025, with work authorization. The administration’s order expands Hong Kong DED to include Hong Kong residents who have been present in the U.S. since January 23, 2023.
