Applicants filing to remove conditions on a green card using Form I-751 or I-829 will now receive a receipt notice that can be presented in conjunction with the green card as evidence of continued permanent resident status for a period of 18 months past the expiration date. Previously this combination would only suffice as evidence of permanent resident status for a period of twelve months. Applicants with Forms I-751 or I-829 that were still pending as of June 11, 2018 will receive new I-797 receipt notices from USCIS.
