UK Updates COVID-19 Travel Guidance

The UK Home Office has updated the COVID-19 rules for travel to England, including whether travelers need to take any tests.

  • From March 17, 2023, passengers aged 18 or over traveling from mainland China and arriving at Heathrow Airport will no longer be invited to take a voluntary test on arrival.
  • From 23:59 BST on April 4, 2023, travelers from mainland China will not need to show notification of a negative test to the airline before they travel.

The current testing requirement applies if England is the final destination or a transit point.

Travelers from all other countries, regardless of vaccination, do not need to complete a UK passenger locator form or take any COVID-19 tests before they arrive or quarantine upon arrival.
