UAE Simplifies Immigration Documents

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has simplified certain immigration-related document procedures for passport issuance for Emiratis and Emirates ID and residency permits for foreign nationals.

The previously four-step processes are now a single-step and utilizes data automation to populate fields with last-known information. Additionally, the ICP will no longer require a personal photo for passport services or ID and resident card services.

In addition to other changes, these documents can also now be paid for through “smart” payment channels, further simplifying the application process.
