UAE Ends Visa Overstay Grace Period

The United Arab Emirates has ended the grace period for foreign nationals who have overstayed the duration of their visa validity. Effective immediately, visa holders who are not in compliance with their visa duration will be subject to a daily fine of AED 50 for each day of overstay. Further, upon departure from the UAE, foreign nationals who have overstayed their visa must obtain an exit permit.

Individuals with a visa-on-arrival will have a 10-day grace period.
