Trump Administration Launches “Trump Card” Website

The Trump administration has launched the “Trump Card” website, allowing interested immigrant investors to sign up for updates on the “gold card.”

  • President Trump and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick announced plans for the “gold card” visa in February, saying it will offer residency and a path to citizenship for $5 million.
  • In late May, Lutnick said the card would replace the EB-5 immigrant investor program, contradicting earlier statements where he said the gold card would exist in addition to the EB-5 program
What they’re saying:
  • Immigration experts have previously warned that the “gold card” would require approval from Congress and an update to the annual cap on employment-based green cards in addition to new tax laws to regulate the program.
  • Some experts have warned that there are very few individuals who will be able to afford the program; others have questioned why the website is not housed under USCIS, like other immigration status applications.
