The Government of Austria has announced that tourism travel will be permitted from December 13, 2021. The resumption of travel follows a national lockdown and increase of travel restrictions for most travelers since November 22.
From December 13, travelers must provide a COVID-19 test result, a vaccination certificate, or a recovery certificate.
- Travelers who do not have vaccination or recovery certificates must take a COVID-19 PCR test within 72 hours of their departure.
- Travelers who present a vaccination certificate must have been immunized within an approved vaccine within the last nine months.
The entry ban for Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, and Zimbabwe remains.
