In this week’s Immigration Nerds podcast, we talk to Evan Taparata, a postdoctoral fellow at the Charles Warren Center for Studies in American History at Harvard University. Evan is currently authoring his latest book, “State of Refuge: The Origins of Refugee Law and Policy in the United States.” In his work, he explores policy, history, and current attitudes toward immigration. In our conversation, we discuss the origins of American refugee law in the years after World War II and how sentiments toward settlement have changed throughout the 20th century.
