Thailand Permits Japanese Tourists 30-Day Visa-Free Entry

Effective January 1, 2024, Japanese tourists are permitted to enter Thailand for thirty days visa-free.

Key Information about Thailand’s Visa Free Agreement for Japan
  1. The policy is in effect from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2026.
  2. Passport holders or those holding documents that can serve as a passport replacement of Japanese nationality, who are visiting the Kingdom for tourism will be allowed a stay of up to 30 days.
  3. An accompanying release from the Immigration Bureau has also stated that visa holders are allowed an extension for an additional 30 days. Furthermore, this type of visa can be converted to a NON-IMMIGRANT “B” visa, which is suitable for working in Thailand.
