The Government of Sweden announced it will extend the entry restrictions for travelers from the EU and European Economic Area countries until February 28. The entry restrictions for travelers outside the EU and EEA will be extended until March 31. The entry exemption for Argentina, Australia, and Canada will be revoked from January 31, 2022.
What to Expect
- Travelers from EU/EEA countries must present the EU Digital COVID Certificate or a corresponding certificate that shows they have completed the vaccination requirement, recovered within the last six months, or tested negative within 72 hours of arrival. This requirement applies to travelers over 18 years of age, with few exemptions.
- Travelers outside the EU/EEA may only enter the country if they are covered by one of the exemptions from the entry ban and can also present a negative result from a COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of arrival to Sweden or are exempt from the test requirement. Exemptions from the entry ban and test requirement apply for several categories of travelers, including those with a vaccination certificate issued in certain countries.
