Sweden Ends Pre-Entry Testing Requirements

The Government of Sweden has lifted the pre-entry testing requirement that was in place for all travelers regardless of vaccination status and country of origin. The change goes into effect on January 21, 2022.

What to Expect
  • Travelers to Sweden will no longer need to present a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 48 hours before arrival.
  • Travelers from the European Union and European Economic Area countries must present the EU Digital COVID Certificate upon their entry.
  • Travelers from outside the EU/EEA must also present a COVID-19 vaccination certificate for an approved vaccine. From January 21, Sweden will recognize passes issued in Montenegro, Taiwan, Thailand, Tunisia, and Uruguay.
  • Travelers with a certificate that has not been recognized will not be permitted entry.
