On January 19, the State Department announced that it would waive fees for applicants denied immigrant visas pursuant to the Trump administration’s travel ban for individuals from Muslim and African countries. The rule applies to certain applicants who were denied an immigrant visa from December 8, 2017, to January 19, 2020. Relevant countries include Iran, Libya, North Korea, Syria, Venezuela, Yemen, Somalia, Eritrea, Kyrgyzstan, Nigeria, Myanmar, Sudan, and Tanzania.
