Spain’s Official State Gazette published Organic Law 1/2025 on January 3, 2025, outlining the end of the Golden Visa program. The law will enter into force three months after the publication, therefore April 3, 2025, will be the final deadline for Golden Visa applications. Spain’s Golden Visa program was introduced in 2013.
What to Expect
- Existing Golden Visa applicants are protected.
- Investors and their family members who apply before the April deadline “may receive the visa or authorization in accordance with the regulations in force on the date of submission of the application.”
- Current visa holders will retain their benefits.
