Singapore’s New Salary Benchmarks for the COMPASS

Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower has released the new Salary Benchmarks table for the COMPASS. The new salary benchmarks will take effect from January 1, 2026, for initial EP applications, and for EP renewals of passes expiring from July 1, 2026.

Key Information

  • This new salary benchmark table sets out the minimum salary requirements that employers must meet to earn points under COMPASS’s salary criterion (category ‘C1’). Points awarded are based on salary levels, and if the salary does not meet the minimum requirements, no points will be awarded under C1. To earn points under the C1. Salary criteria, the candidate’s fixed monthly salary needs to meet or exceed the 65th percentile of local PMET salaries in the company sector.
  • The new salary benchmarks have been updated to reflect the latest market conditions. For instance, the minimum salary requirements have been adjusted upwards to ensure they remain competitive and aligned with current economic trends. The specific salary thresholds vary by sector, with higher benchmarks set for industries that typically offer higher compensation packages.
  • The current benchmarking table, released in August 2024, will remain effective for new EP applications from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025, and for EP renewal applications of passes expiring from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026.

The benchmarks are updated once a year, to reflect the latest market conditions. The benchmarks are derived from MOM’s Manpower Research and Statistics Department’s (MRSD) annual Comprehensive Labour Force Survey.
