Singapore to Drop Entry Approval Measures for Fully Vaccinated Long-Term Pass Holders

The Government of Singapore announced it would revoke the entry approval requirements for fully vaccinated long-term pass holders from 11:59 pm on February 21, 2022. However, under the new guidance, work permit holders must still have a vaccinated travel pass if entering through vaccinated travel lanes (VTLs) or an entry approval under non-VTL channels such as the work pass holder general lane.

Key Highlights
  • Eligible pass holders must show their long-term pass or in-principle approval letter and proof of vaccination or exemption.
  • Eligible pass holders entering Singapore through one of the VTLs will not need to apply separately for a vaccinated travel pass.
  • Non-VTL travelers to Singapore do not need to apply for entry approval but must adhere to the prevailing immigration entry requirements and health protocols.
  • All travelers should plan to submit a health and recent travel declaration before their arrival.

The COVID-19 pandemic is rapidly evolving, and guidance from government agencies and health advisories change often. This announcement marks a significant change from the current rules, which have been in place since March 2020, and require long-term pass holders to gain approval before entering Singapore.
