Updates to the Singapore Permanent Resident (PR) Application Process

The Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) announced changes to the Singapore Permanent Residence (PR) application process. The following outlines and compares the previous and current Permanent Residence application process.

7. Letter of Employment (LOE) LOE dated within 1 month of PR application LOE can be dated within 3 months of PR application. The company has more time (3 months instead of 1) to issue the LOE.
8. Annex A Required for PTS Scheme applicants No longer needed Annex A form, information to be filled directly in ICA portal.
9. Application Drafting Submission within 7 days once it is drafted 14-day drafting window:

  • 7 days for first part (Fill in Particulars and Upload Documents),
  • 7 days for second part (Review & Declare, and make payment)
10. Submission Process Offline completed manual form upload or ICA e-Service options Only via ICA e-Service (no offline forms).
11. Processing Time Based on application submission, typically 6-9 months. It may take longer even more than a year Processed within 6 months, timelines vary with combined PR and LTVP applications.
