Singapore has introduced a new Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) arrangement, which will allow fully vaccinated travelers to enter Singapore without serving the Stay Home Notice (SHN).
The new travel arrangement will begin with fully vaccinated travelers from Germany and Brunei starting September 8, 2021. Applications will open on September 1.
What to Expect
- Travelers must be fully vaccinated.
- Travelers to Singapore will have to book a VTL flight, which admits only fully vaccinated passengers. VTL flights are currently offered by Singapore Airlines, Lufthansa, and Royal Brunei Airlines.
- VTL travelers will have to submit 4 COVID-19 PCR tests: 48 hours before departure; upon arrival; Day 3; Day 7
- Travelers will have to self-isolate until they obtain a negative result from their on-arrival test.
In addition to the eased restrictions through the VTL, Singapore has announced it would be lifting its border restrictions for travelers from Hong Kong and Macao from August 21, 2021. As a result, travelers from Hong Kong and Macao will not need to serve SHN but will take a COVID-19 PCR test upon arrival and self-isolate until they receive a negative test.
