The Qatar Minister of Labor has published Decision No. 50 of 2026 in the Official Gazette on September 7, 2026. The Decision, which amends the Wage Protection System (WPS), entered into force on the day following its publication.
The amendments establish the salary due date for workers paid on a monthly or annual basis as the first day of each calendar month. Employers must transfer employees’ wages within seven days of the due date. Wages of other workers become due on the first day of each two-week period.
Employers are advised to review their payroll procedures to comply with the new requirements.
