The statutory requirement to obtain a negative test before travel and register entry into Norway upon arrival has been discontinued.
Travelers to Svalbard are required to test before leaving the Norwegian mainland. However, this does not apply to permanent residents of Svalbard or those who can present a COVID-19 certificate demonstrating that they meet specific vaccination or recovery requirements. All people arriving in Svalbard must still take a SARS-CoV-2 test within 24 hours of their arrival.
