The Mobility Arrangement for Talented Early-professionals Scheme (MATES) is a new scheme, established under the Migration and Mobility Partnership Arrangement (MMPA) between India and Australia. MATES will allow Indian graduates and early career professionals to live and work in Australia for up to two years. The scheme will be 3,000 places for primary applicants per program year. Dependents can be included and will have full work rights – their visas do not count towards the annual cap.
MATES will be a separate stream of the existing subclass 403 (Temporary Work (International Relations) visa and commences from November 12, 2024.
Eligibility
- Places will be allocated by a ballot for which registration will cost A$25.
- Applicants will need to be 30 years old or younger to register.
- Applicants must hold a qualification from an eligible institution which relates to renewable energy, mining, engineering, information and communication technology, artificial intelligence, financial technology and agricultural technology industries.
