Effective October 24, 2023, the Expatriate Services Division (ESD) of the Immigration Department of Malaysia has begun issuing the i-KAD to ESD-registered holders of Employment Pass (EP) Category I, II and III and Residence Pass-Talent (RP-T). i-KAD will be issued for new, renewal and transfer of endorsement applications It will be issued to dependents of RP-T holders but not to dependents of EP holders.
The i-KAD is an identification document for foreign national residents in Malaysia and has not been issued since 2019.
