June 2020 Visa Bulletin Released

The U.S. Department of State (DOS) released the June 2020 Visa Bulletin. As reported in the June Visa Bulletin, Final Action Dates for all employment-based categories have remained largely unchanged in comparison to May. The employment-based categories with more significant movement are in the EB-4 category for El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, which advanced by four months and 16 days and the EB-3 category for all countries except China and India, which advanced by ten months and eight days. China and India both advanced by one month.

In the upcoming month, due to the immigrant visa availability, USCIS will determine what chart will be used for adjustment of status applications. Applicants must use the Final Action Dates chart unless the USCIS provides that you may use the Dates for Filing chart.

Department of State Visa Bulletin for June 2020 has specified that in the family-based F2A category, the applicants may use the Final Action Dates chart instead of the cut-off date on Dates for Filing chart. For the rest of the family-based categories, applicants must use Dates for Filing chart. In contrast, for the employment-based category, applicants must use the Final Action Dates chart.

The EIG team is closely monitoring changes to the monthly visa bulletin and determining the best plan of action for each case. We will be reaching out to individuals whose priority date will be current next month to initiate the next step of the green card process. We have also summarized frequently asked questions in our August 8th Issue of the EIG Dispatch. We encourage you to read this article to have a better grasp of the visa bulletin and to understand what your priority date means.

PLEASE NOTE: USCIS has determined that it will use Chart A for June. For more information, please visit the USCIS website.
