The government of Israel has cancelled the automatic extension of asylum seekers’ visas. Asylum seekers in Israel now must renew their visas at the Population Authority facility in Bnei Brak or Eilat.
Need to Know Information
- Non-renewal does not involve the risk of immediate deportation, however, employers should make sure the foreign nationals have a valid visa that allows them to work in Israel.
- The visa non-renewal prevents asylum seekers from receiving minimal social services and access to a bank account.
