Ireland Extends Short-Stay Visa Waiver Program to December 31

The Department of Justice has extended the Short-stay Visa Waiver Program until December 31, 2026. Previously, it was due to end on October 31, 2026.

The program allows nationals of certain countries, who have entered the UK on the basis of certain UK short-stay (up to 180 days) visas, to travel to Ireland without the requirement to obtain an Irish visa. They may stay in Ireland for up to the time remaining on their current leave to remain in the UK, or up to 90 days, whichever is shorter.
