India Expands Visa-On-Arrival Services for UAE Citizens

Citizens of the United Arab Emirates who are visiting India will now have access to India’s Visa-on-Arrival (VoA) program at nine Indian international airports.

The VoA is available only to UAE passport holders who have previously obtained an Indian e-Visa or a regular visa. UAE nationals who, or whose parent or grandparent, were born in or have permanent residence in Pakistan are not eligible. These travelers must obtain their visa through India’s diplomatic missions in the UAE.

What to Expect
  • The VOA can be used for business, tourism, medical treatment, and conferences.
  • The VOA allows a stay of up to 60 days, with the possibility of two entries within that period if granted a double-entry visa.
  • The VoA cannot be extended or converted into another visa type.
  • The VOA can be used multiple times within the same year, so long as the eligibility requirements continue to be met.
Requirements

Travelers must carry a valid passport with at least six months’ validity and two blank pages, along with the completed VOA application form, disembarkation card, and passport-size photos. Immigration officers may request proof of accommodation, sufficient funds and return or onward tickets.

Applications can be submitted online in advance or filled out upon arrival. A fee of ₹2,000 (or equivalent foreign currency) applies to each traveler, including children.
