Iceland Extends Travel Restrictions into 2022

The Government of Iceland has announced it will maintain the current public health measures and border controls until January 15, 2022.

Key Highlights
  • Travelers who are fully vaccinated with a vaccine approved by either the European Medicines Agency or the World Health Organization may enter without a quarantine requirement.
  • Unvaccinated travelers must pre-register before arriving in Iceland; present certificates for a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours before departure on the first leg of the journey; and quarantine for 14 days. The quarantine period can be abbreviated on day 5 with testing.
  • Children born in 2005 or later are exempt from testing and quarantine requirements.
  • Minors traveling with a guardian who is approved to enter may also enter.
