The Government of Hungary announced new rules that will apply to vaccine certificates in Hungary (including the EU-Digital COVID-19 Certificate) from May 1, 2022.
Key Highlights
- With a valid EU-DCC: No restrictions apply to passengers arriving in Hungary.
- Individuals who contract COVID-19 after receiving a primary course of COVID-19 vaccines can have their certificate extended for 6 months from the date of their diagnosis.
- EU-DCCs are only valid for 6 months from the last dose without a ‘booster’ dose.
- EU-DCCs issued based on a booster dose have no expiry date.
- Persons intending to travel to Hungary one year after their first COVID-19 vaccination will require a negative PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before arrival.
- Without a valid EU-DCC: No restrictions apply to passengers arriving in Hungary with a negative PCR taken no more than 72 hours before arrival.
Individuals must agree to a health screening upon arrival. Those who test positive must enter quarantine for 10 days.
