Hong Kong’s highest court, the Court of Final Appeal, upheld a judgment allowing same-sex spouses to obtain dependent work visas. Previously same-sex spouses were ineligible for these visas and were obligated to seek employment visas in their own right. Same-sex marriages are neither performed in Hong Kong nor considered valid under Hong Kong law.
