Hong Kong Passport Holders Gain Visa-Free Access

The Immigration Department (ImmD) announced on July 27, 2026, that the government of Hong Kong had received notification from the government of Nicaragua that Hong Kong passport holders may now visit Nicaragua visa-free for a stay of up to 30 days.

In addition, effective August 26, 2026, Hong Kong passport holders may also visit Solomon Islands visa-free for a stay of up to 30 days.

Meanwhile, effective from August 26, 2026, nationals of Nicaragua and Solomon Islands may visit Hong Kong visa-free for a stay of up to 30 days.

Including Nicaragua and Solomon Islands, 178 countries and territories have granted visa-free access or visa-on-arrival to HKSAR passport holders.
