Starting June 2018, Hong Kong will launch the Technology Talent Admission Scheme (TechTAS), a three-year pilot program intended to streamline the admission of workers in the field of research and development. Companies can qualify for sponsorship if they participate in the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTPC) or the Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited (Cyberport). Employees must:
- work full-time for the sponsoring company;
- be engaged in the fields of artificial intelligence, biotechnology, cybersecurity, robotics, data analytics, material science, or financial technology;
- hold a STEM degree;
- have at least one year of relevant experience or an advanced degree; and
- earn above the prevailing wage for the area.
