Bolivia Reinstates Visa Requirements for US and Israeli Citizens

Bolivia’s new president Luis Arce is undoing a decree from the previous administration which allowed US and Israeli citizens to enter Bolivia without a visa. Since 2019, US and Israeli citizens and nationals have been visa exempted, in an attempt to boost tourism.

As of February 8, Americans and Israelis will need to apply for a visa prior to traveling to Bolivia. Travelers who booked their trips before the announcement will be granted an exemption.
