- Belgium: From October 1, 2024, the regulations governing work permits and professional cards will change for non-European nationals in the Brussels Capital Region. The changes mainly concern work permits for salaried workers but also for the self-employed. Learn more»
- Denmark: The Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI) uses income statistics made by the Confederation of Danish Employers (DA) in the case processing of applications to decide if an offered job is within the Danish salary standards. This applies to the Pay Limit Scheme, the Positive List, and the Fast Track Scheme, among other routes. The changes will take effect for applications submitted from October 1, 2024.
- Finland: Effective October 1, 2024, the period of residence required for Finnish citizenship will be extended from the current five years to eight years. Learn more»
- New Zealand: The government announced on August 9, 2024, that increases to visa charges, made up of fees and levies, and the International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL), are being introduced on October 1, 2024. Learn more»
- INZ has also announced that, from October 7, 2024, accredited employers must engage directly with Work and Income for most ANZSCO Level 4 or 5 vacancies at the Job Check stage rather than using an immigration professional such as a Licensed Immigration Adviser (LIA).
- Sweden: Effective October 1, changes are being introduced to Sweden’s citizenship rules. The changes vary and apply to young people (15 to 21 years of age), Nordic citizens, and applicants who apply for release from citizenship.
- United Kingdom: Nationals of Jordan will be required to apply for a UK visit visa (instead of an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA)) after 3 pm (BST) on October 8, 2024. [Nationals of Jordan may arrive in the UK with an ETA before 3 pm (BST) on October 8, 2024, if they have booked their journey before 3 pm (BST) on September 10, 2024, and this booking was for a journey arriving in the UK before 3 pm (BST) on October 8, 2024. The UK’s VIP Delegate Visa will also be introduced from October 10, 2024, to be used by delegates (a capped number) accompanying heads of state and government ministers visiting the UK on official government business.
- United States: Effective October 1, 2024, USCIS will increase the investment and revenue thresholds under the International Entrepreneur Rule, as required every three years. However, the application fee will not change. Learn more»
