With near chronic labor shortages, Germany is currently debating a proposal to ease the work visa process for skilled non-EU workers. While the proposal would still require preference for German workers in hiring, the country nevertheless has prioritized finding a solution to the problem of a record 1.2 million unfilled jobs.
