As of Sunday, May 16, France has updated the health and safety protocols for international travel to and from France.
Arrivals from within the European Space
Travelers arriving from other countries within the European Space can enter France without self-isolating on arrival. Travelers will have to provide a negative PCR test taken within 72-hours before departure and a sworn health declaration.
The ‘European Space’ includes all EU Member States, Andorra, the Holy See, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino, and Switzerland.
Arrivals from Australia, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, or the United Kingdom.
Travelers from one of these seven countries can enter France. Travelers will have to provide a negative PCR test taken within the 72-hours before departure and a sworn health declaration, and self-isolate for 7 days after arrival.
Arrivals from Argentina, Bangladesh, Brazil, Chile, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Qatar, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates; and from 16 May, Bahrain, Colombia, Costa Rica, and Uruguay
Travelers from one of these countries can enter France only if they have pressing grounds for travel.
Health measures include:
- A compulsory 10-day quarantine.
- An exempted international travel certificate for travel to France, available here in English and in French.
- A sworn declaration affirming the traveler’s health status.
- If you are aged 11 or over, a negative PCR test result, carried out less than 36 hours before boarding, or otherwise, a negative PCR test result carried out less than 72 hours before boarding and a negative antigen test carried out less than 24 hours before boarding.
- Proof of quarantine location (a home, or other appropriate accommodation) and, where necessary, access details for inspectors.
Arrivals from any other country
Travelers from any other country cannot enter France without an exemption. With an exemption, they must have the required documents and self-isolate for seven days after arrival.

- If you are aged 11 or over, a negative PCR test result, carried out less than 72 hours before departure.
Departures from France
Departures to a country in the European space, as well as to Australia, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, and the United Kingdom are not subject to any restrictions but are strongly discouraged.
