France Increases Salary Minimum for Talent Passport Residence Permits

Each year, on January 1, France increases the minimum wage to adjust for inflation, which automatically impacts the minimum salary threshold for some Talent Passport categories.

 Key Changes
  • The minimum annual gross salary for the Talent Passport “Salarié en mission” equals the minimum wage in France (currently equivalent to 19237,44 euros per month) x 1.8, so in January 2022, it’s equal to 34 627,32 €.
  • The minimum annual gross salary for the Talent Passport “Qualified employee – young innovative company” is equal to the minimum wage in France x 2, so in January 2022, it’s equal to 38 475 €.
  • The minimum annual gross salary for the Talent Passport “Legal Representative (Mandataire social)” is equal to the minimum wage in France x 3, so in January 2022, it’s equal to 57 712,20 €.

For example, an employee who has a Talent Passport “Qualified Employee” with an annual gross salary of 38 147 € (the minimum salary threshold in 2021 for this permit category) must have an increase in their salary to meet the requirements for the Talent Passport “Qualified Employee” in 2022.
