Finland to Reinstate Internal Border Controls

The Government of Finland has announced it would reinstate the internal border controls between Finland and the other Schengen Area countries from December 28. The changes are in response to the rapid spread of the Omicron variant.

Key Changes
  • Everyone will undergo entry checks before entering Finland.
  • All travelers are required to present a vaccination or recovery certificate.
  • All travelers must present negative COVID-19 test results taken within 48 hours before entry.
