Finland | Benefits for Temporary Protection Extended to 2024

The Finnish government has announced that the residence permits granted as part of the temporary protection will be extended automatically until March 4, 2024.

All residence permits issued based on temporary protection will be automatically renewed. There are no actions to be taken by beneficiaries.

People who have been granted temporary protection in Finland can apply for residence in the municipality after one year of residence in the country. Applications may be submitted from March 1, 2023. Individuals with a municipality of residence have greater access to services than those residing in an asylum center.
