European Commission Proposes to Lift Visa Requirements for Kuwait and Qatar

The European Commission proposed wavering visa requirements for short stays of Qatari and Kuwaiti citizens. The Commission stated that both countries met the necessary criteria following a detailed assessment of irregular migration, public policy and security, economic benefits, and the Union’s relations with each country.

Following approval from the EU Council, Qatari and Kuwaiti nationals can travel to all EU Member States for up to 90 days in any 180-day period for business, tourism, and family purposes, without a visa.

Nationals from more than sixty countries can travel to the EU exempt from visa requirements.
