The Council of the European Union removed Argentina, Australia, and Canada from its safe list, advising the Member States to reinstate travel restrictions for travelers from these countries.
If the Council’s recommendation is followed, travelers from these countries will have to follow entry rules when reaching the EU Member States. However, as each EU Member State can set its own entry rules, travelers may have to follow different entry rules depending on their destination.
What to Expect
- All EU countries require travelers to present a valid vaccination certificate or proof of recovery.
- Travelers from third countries not placed on the “safe list” may also be required to undergo an entry test.
The safe third countries list includes Bahrain, Chile, Colombia, Indonesia, Kuwait, New Zealand, Peru, Qatar, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, United Arab Emirates, Uruguay, and China, subject to confirmation of reciprocity.
