On Thursday, May 5, the EU Parliament stated support for Moldova’s formal EU membership application ‘on the basis of merit.’ Additionally, Members of Parliament have noted the impact of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on Moldova and called on the EU to continue to assist Moldova while this process is ongoing.
Moldovan citizens have had access to visa-free travel within the EU since 2014.
