EU Migration Reforms Delayed

On July 26, 2023, the representatives of the 27 European Union member states met to discuss the rules for migration and asylum but failed to come to an agreement on key points. As a result, the planned migration reforms are delayed.

The EU is experiencing increased irregular migration and asylum claims, and the reform was meant to address the member states’ plans.

It is unknown when the reforms on migration and asylum will be discussed again.
