EU Extends Temporary Protection for Ukraine to 2025

As the Russian invasion of Ukraine continues, the EU is extending the temporary benefits for Ukrainian citizens and other people displaced by the invasion. The EU Council agreed to extend the temporary protection from March 4, 2024 to March 4, 2025. The temporary protection mechanism was first activated on March 4, 2022 and it was automatically extended by one year.

More than 4 million Ukrainian refugees currently live in the EU.
