EU Council Recommends Members Require COVID Testing for Travelers from China

The EU Member States met on January 4 to discuss COVID-19 travel requirements for travelers departing from China. The President of the Council of the European Union released the statement, “The Member States are strongly encouraged to introduce, for all passengers departing from China to Member States, the requirement for a negative COVID-19 test taken not more than 48 hours prior to departure from China.”

Member States are also encouraged to recommend that passengers wear face masks during their flights and other health and safety measures.
