International Updates
Chile | The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights extended the identity card validity until February 28, 2022, for Chilean nationals whose identity cards expired in 2019 and 2020 or will expire in 2021. The same extension will also apply for foreign nationals living in Chile, as long as the extension or permanent residence process is in progress. Lastly, the government will accept expired Venezuelan passports and identity cards for 4 more years.
Ireland | All passengers arriving into Ireland (except those arriving from Northern Ireland) must have a negative or ‘not detected’ result from a pre-departure COVID-19 RT-PCR test that was carried out no more than 72 hours prior to arrival in Ireland.
Italy | Rome’s airport is exploring adding additional COVID-tested flights to Japan and more cities in North America. The pilot program has been running flights from Rome to New York and Atlanta since December.
Russia | The suspension of flights between Russia and the UK has been extended until February 16, 2021. All passengers arriving in Russia from the UK are subject to a 14-day self-isolation requirement.
Sweden | From February 6, international travelers to Sweden will have to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 48-hours of arrival. Exemptions and different rules will apply for cross-border commuters and foreign citizens residing in Sweden.
