U.S. Visa System Restored
UPDATE: The Department of State (DOS) announced on June 26, 2015 that all visa issuing posts had been restored, following the visa system issues that started on June 9, 2015. More than 300,000 nonimmigrant visas were issued last week and the agency is working around the clock to eliminate the backlog early this week. At this time visa interviews are being scheduled and nonimmigrant and immigrant visas are being issued. The DOS additionally reported that there are still some lingering technical problems, however technicians continue to work to restore the system to its full functionality.
EIG will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.
