France | Beginning next week, it will be mandatory to wear a mask in indoor public spaces. Wearing a mask is already required for public transportation.

Israel | The government has imposed a weekend shutdown in an effort to lower infection rates. While people will be able to leave their homes, business, shopping, and activity venues will be closed.

Jordan | Commercial flights will resume from August to the European and Asian countries on an internationally approved safe list, including Austria, Germany, Greece, Italy, Switzerland, Hong Kong, and Thailand. The list is subject to change.

Pakistan | The government has issued a lockdown order for the southern-most province of Sindh until August 15.

The Philippines | Foreign nationals with long-term visas will be able to enter the country from August 1 but will be required to quarantine upon arrival.

Applications for new entry visas are not being accepted at this time, and Filipinos will have priority on inbound flights.

Spain | The regional authorities in Catalonia are introducing new restrictions to curb the recent increase of coronavirus cases.

The United Kingdom | Ahead of the planned wider reopening of sporting venues scheduled for October, some sporting events will begin to allow spectators from next week. These matches are being used as a pilot to test the planned measures for the fall.

The United States | Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf confirmed that the borders with Canada and Mexico would remain closed until August 20.

The CDC extended the ban on cruise ships through the end of September.

In a settlement on Tuesday, July 14, DHS and ICE rescinded the policy which would have threatened the visa status for tens of thousands of students.
