Supreme Court to Consider Whether Green Card Holders may be Rendered Inadmissible

On April 22, the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) agreed to hear the case of a permanent resident in the U.S. currently under removal proceedings following criminal convictions. In deciding this case, SCOTUS will determine whether U.S. Federal Immigration Laws allow for a permanent resident to be deemed inadmissible during a period of continuous residence in the country, when the individual is not requesting admission into the U.S.
